A BRIEF HISTORY | AIMING HIGH | A BORDEAUX CLASSIC

The original building at Château du Lort dates back to the 17th century, although there is evidence to suggest that some modernisation took place in the 18th and 19th centuries. The house is surrounded by a fine vineyard, whose diverse terrains produce an impressive range of wines. The château was acquired in 1984 by the Castel family, who immediately embarked upon a programme of renovations. 2006 saw the start of an ambitious project to update the winery, installing state-of-the-art equipment for producing and storing wine. A magnificent dedicated tasting room was also built at that time.
From an estate such as Château du Lort with its distinguished heritage and spectacular architecture, one would expect nothing less than a fine appellation Bordeaux red, one which consistently wins prestigious awards.
